Apparently, one in four American women are prescribed anti-depressants. (See Guardian article in my very first post.) Can this many women actually be suffering from clinical depression? Or do women have to bear a greater burden in society making them more vulnerable to depression?

My journal of going off my anti-depressants, affectionately known as Auntie Dee, one week at a time. With my family doctor and psychotherapist, I have devised a 7-month plan for getting rid of these little soul-robbers. I hope to help others wanting to do the same. I will speak frankly about my own depression and some ways I tackle the black dog. I acknowledge that I may not be successful. Please join me on this journey of self-discovery.
